Great Falls National Park

This photo features some of the many impressive waterfalls at Great Falls National Park. The park straddles the Potomac River about 15 miles north of Washington, DC and has entrances in Virginia and Maryland. This photo was taken in Virginia.

Washington DC: Lincoln Memorial

This is a photo, taken from the observation tower of the Old Post Office Building, of the Lincoln Memorial. Behind the Memorial to the left is the Memorial Bridge that spans the Potomac River and connects Washington, DC to Arlington, VA. Many of the tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery, the American national military cemetery, are visible on the hillside in Virginia.

Another Duck

This duck was on the pond with several other ducks and a couple of dozen geese yesterday. The weather was the warmest it's been in about two months and the waterfowl were taking advantage of their good fortune.

Another Airplane

This is another, very small (about the length of two tandem bicycles laid end-to-end), airplane at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.

Space Shuttle Enterprise

This is the space shuttle Enterprise, on display at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Dulles, Virginia. This is located in a huge room dedicated to displays and information about space travel. The Enterprise dominates the various space satellites and modules that are also displayed here.

Enola Gay

This is the nose of the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945. The plane is on display at the Smithsonian Institute's Air & Space Museum extension at Dulles Airport in Virginia.

Zipline Fun!

This fellow enjoys a quick trip down a "zipline" on a late summer day in West Virginia. Starting at the top of a tower several stories high, the zipliner descends into a lake at the end of the line.

Street Juggler

This is a photo from my quick visit to Tijuana, Mexico nearly a year ago. I shot the juggler - who was standing on someone's (his sister's?) shoulders and juggling - while we waited for a traffic light to change. When the light changed, she quickly came over to get a dollar from me.
